questions

  • What is provided in my self-catering cottage?
    Each of our cottages has at least one smart TV, all of the kitchen utensils that are needed for everyday use, appliances for cooking, a washer/dryer and a dishwasher. A small 'starter pack' is also provided. This includes some UHT milk a few tea bags, olive oil, salt & pepper, 2x washing tablets, 2x dishwasher tablets, a roll of foil, tea towels as well as some dishcloths and scourers. There is also a toilet roll per bathroom to get you started. We no longer leave a 'welcome hamper' as we noticed a lot of wastage and problems related to allergies.
  • Can I change the bed configuration in my cottage?
    Some of the bedrooms in Woodfield Farm, Somerwood, Duddle Cottage and Whitewell Cottage have zip-link beds that can be configured as twin or super-king size. Please let us know your desired configuration at least 7 days prior to check-in.
  • Am I allowed to bring my pet?
    We apologise for any inconvenience caused but we do not allow pets in our holiday cottages.
  • Will the hot tub be available for our stay?
    In order to reduce wastage and to organise the schedule of our maintenance team, we ask that you request the use of your hot tub at least 7 days prior to arrival. (If this has not already been requested at point of booking.) Please check you booking summary if you are unsure.
  • Is there sufficient parking?
    Yes, each cottage has ample parking as well as access to an overflow car park adjacent to the courtyard area.
  • What do you provide for infants?
    Travel cots with a mattress are available on request. These are suitable for infants aged up to approximately 3 years or 15kgs. We also provide high chairs, fire guards and stair gates for safety purposes. Please note: Children who are not suitable for the travel cots will be included in occupancy limits.
  • Can I order a supermarket delivery to my holiday cottage?
    Yes, of course! Most large supermarkets deliver to our site. Please use the full address provided on the booking confirmation. Please use the following postcode: PR3 3YN (BB2 7JA for Woodfield Farm) and state the name of your cottage on delivery instructions. Please note, we cannot be held responsible for any deliveries (including items delivered to neighbours in your absence).
  • How much is the good housekeeping deposit?
    The good housekeeping deposit varies depending on the holiday cottage you have booked. Woodfield & Somerwood: £300 Oak Bank Farm:£250 Duddle:£200 Waddow:£160 Bailey: £160 Crumbleholme, Dinkley, Sherburne and Whitewell: £100 Woodpecker, Robin and Kingfisher Lodge: £50
  • How do I pay the good housekeeping bond?
    If you book online, the good housekeeping bond can be paid during the booking process or with the final payment. You can also pay by bank transfer. If you choose to pay by bank transfer, the amount must reach our account 7 days prior to check-in (taking into account bank clearance delays).
  • How do I get my good housekeeping bond back?
    If you made payment with your booking online, it will be refunded back onto the card you paid with (providing it is still in date). If you paid the good housekeeping deposit via a bank transfer, we ask that you email us your bank account details, including name, account number and sort code, so that we may return your deposit accordingly.
  • When will my good housekeeping bond be returned?
    We aim to return all bonds within 7 - 10 working days of your check-out date. This is to allow time for us to note any damages and taking into account bank clearance delays.
  • What time is check -in and check-out?
    Check in is at 4pm (unless you're staying at Woodfield Farm when check-in is from 3pm.) Check-out is at 10am. We ask that you ensure you have vacated the holiday cottage and removed all of your belongings by 10am so that we have sufficient time to prepare for the next guests. Early check-in and check-outs may be available at an added cost, please get in touch to make arrangements.
  • How do I collect the keys to my cottage?
    We leave all keys in a lock box outside of each cottage. You will be sent the code for your lock box approximately an hour before your arrival. This is usually sent to the lead booker's email address. It can be sent via text if emails are not accessible on your device.
  • Can I play music/ make noise outside of my cottage?
    Music can be played outside of cottages, so long as neighbours are considered. We are based in a rural location and sound can travel long distances. Noise outdoors is not permitted after 11pm, and down to a minimum indoors.
  • How clean should I leave the cottage?
    We ask that you leave the cottage in the same state as you found it. We provide a dustpan and brush, broom, vacuum, mop and bucket, dishclothes and an all-purpose spray. We do not expect a full, deep clean but we would like to see that the cottage has been looked after during your stay. Please remember to empty all bins, close the windows and turn off/down the heating.
  • I left an item behind, how do I get it back?
    We are happy to return your item. We will get you a price for postage. We do charge a £5 admin fee for sending back your item. Once we have received the full amount, we will post your item back. Or even better, if you would like to collect your item we are in the office Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm.
  • Can we bring helium balloons?
    Yes. If you bring a canister to inflate the balloons we ask that you take it away with you. To dispose of these for you will result in a £10 charge, which will be taken from your good housekeeping deposit.
  • Do you have facilities to charge EVs?
    We have installed 4 EV chargers across our sites. These can be found at Woodfield Farm, Somwerwood, Oak Bank Farm and one on the courtyard serving the smaller properties. There is a charge to use these and the 'Charge Assist' app can be downloaded to assist with charging.
  • Is there wifi?
    Yes, each cottage has wifi. Although, as we are located in the countryside the wifi may not be as fast or reliable as you are used to at home. In the case of full outage, beyond our control, we are unable to compensate.
  • Do you have any accessible cottages?
    Whitewell is our purpose built accessible cottage (please see the cottage page for more information). The following cottages have at least one downstairs bedroom: Dinkley Cottage, Waddow Cottage, Duddle Cottage, Woodfield and Somerwood. We do have one shower stool available for use in wetrooms, this is allocated on a first come, first served basis and has a maximum limit of 25st/160kgs.
